This excellent small restaurant is run by brothers Francesco and Salvatore Trama, who extend a warm welcome. Ask what the evening specials are. They might be mama’s green lasagna or whatever fish was freshest that afternoon, marinated in wine, garlic, and ginger, and broiled. You could also try the lightly breaded and deep-fried baby squid and octopus, a mouth-watering saltimbocca, spaghetti with zucchini, and a filling zuppa di pesce.  La Cisterna is only a short walk from Piazza Umberto I Via a labyrinth of covered "tunnels."
